We live in an era of pageants, reality shows and contests, headhunting everything from vocal talents to masters of trivia to the fittest ‘survivors’. In many ways, competition drives the world, so much so that it seems inconceivable that the concept of a “business plan competition” was once truly moot.
Students of law had long benefited from “moot court” exercises in which they pitted their skills and knowledge in simulated real-world situations. Business school students had no such venue - until this same model was adopted by two enterprising students at the Graduate School of Business, University of Texas at Austin in 1984; hence, the name “Moot Corp”. Whereas MBA students formerly approached “new venture” ideas strictly as an academic exercise, today’s graduates are much more likely – and enabled – to build successful ventures based on the business plans they formulated in the classroom.

This ‘enabling’ aspect is the reason, behind the THAMMASAT ASIA MOOT CORP 2010 competition (TUAMC). Attracting leading business schools, venture capitalists and key players from the business community, THAMMASAT ASIA MOOT CORP is the region’s most recognized business plan competition. For the visionary business student with a dream, THAMMASAT ASIA MOOT CORP is just the high-profile vehicle they need to jumpstart a viable entrepreneurial career.
TUAMC achieves this by acting as a bridge, linking ideas generated in the classroom to real-world opportunities in the business sector. Its positive impacts are many. TUAMC:
:: Updates the business community on the latest ideas, trends and opportunities
:: Links the business community to Thailand’s education centers and opens financing opportunities to young entrepreneurs
:: Inspires top schools to participate and to develop a more robust entrepreneurship curriculum
:: Contributes the business plans and presentations it has fielded to be used as case studies supporting the entrepreneurship curriculum for both Thai and international programs of study.

Participation in the THAMMASAT ASIA MOOT CORP 2010 competition gives you the opportunity to:
:: Win the competition’s prize of US$ 7,500 and eligibility to compete at the GLOBAL MOOT CORP® 2010 competition at the University of Texas at Austin. This year, TUAMC will see more than US$25,000 in total cash prizes.
